When we moved to Waverly in the spring of 2006, one of the first things we did as a family was come to the Waverly Public Library while we were house hunting. As teachers with young children who loved to read, libraries have always been a special place for us. We figured the library would be the best way to get a better feel for the community that we would be immersing ourselves in, and we were welcomed with open arms. Because the Waverly Public Library offers something for everyone--no matter your age.

As toddlers, we brought our twin boys to the library for story hour while our girls participated in the summer reading program every year from elementary to high school. The library was always a favorite place for our family as the kids were growing up. When our daughters were older and babysitting over the summers, they would bring the kids to the library at least once a week for reading time. Our oldest, Allison, even worked at the library during her senior year of high school. Years later, the library is still just as important to our family. Our adult children continue to use Libby from as far
away as Chicago, New York City and California, and while everyone is home over the holidays, they check out physical books.

Overall, the Waverly Public Library offers so many benefits for our community. It’s a wonderful place for all people to have access to reading material of all formats and genres. The library is an invaluable resource that helps promote literacy and learning for children of all ages and is a great place to meet, learn, study and enjoy group activities.
