MORE SPACE TO RELAX

For adults, Make Room for Renewal gifts will renovate the northwest corner of the building, changing the small conference room and nearby spaces into a quiet den, featuring comfortable furniture and a cozy dual-sided fireplace.

While the den creates a whole new room to relax, the project will also add seating throughout the Library, offering more peaceful places to read and study.

Tables will be added for book clubs and collaborative work. More space will be provided for adult computers and in collections – such as local history and large print. The new staff workroom will also create much-needed storage for the growing number of adult craft and DIY programs.

Adults will have the space to meet their own needs.

In recent community surveys, the most common request from adult patrons is more space for reading and relaxation. We have to build more quiet area into our long-range plans for the facility.

We call it “Wednesday chaos” when kids get out early from school. It’s tough finding a quiet place to read when you’re in the middle of that much energy, and it can feel like the Library is primarily just for kids.
